A bunch species, Hop Sedge (Carex lupulina) has stout, smooth stems that can grow up to 3 feet tall. Once the plant matures, it will produce egg shaped spikey seed heads. This is a wetland species that is highly sought after and can be beneficial to wetland habitats once established. Ducks especially take a liking to Hop Sedge.
