Spotted Beebalm (Monarda punctata), also known as Horsemint, is an aromatic, erect perennial with white, pink and purple petals with maroon markings on the tubular flowers stacked on a stem. Grows in most regions of the United States. Dry soil with sun conditions. Is drought tolerant and has special value to native bees and insects. Recognized for attracting large number of native bees. Great for pollinators.

Fall and late winter seeding seems to be ideal seeding period. Plants grow slow while the base is expanding. Growth starts accelerating in August and September.
